Alt-pop trio Echosmith - siblings Sydney (vocals, keys), Noah (bass, vocals, production) and Graham Sierota (drums) - share vulnerable and vibrant alternative pop anthems that instantly light up the heart. Their third, self-titled album will be released in late July. The new single, "Sour," featuring Sydney's silky vocals and Noah's terrific production, chronicles the singer's frustration with her long-distance relationship with her husband and her commitment to keeping their relationship first. Once again, one senses that as much as art opens a window, it also holds a mirror up to us and magnifies our reflections. Echosmith bundles familiar emotions and experiences through a kaleidoscope of cinematic soundscapes, airy pop hooks and crystalline synths. After platinum-colored successes and countless sold-out concerts, the Southern Californians:inside exude even more purposeful joy and have taken full creative control for the first time with "Echosmith." Their family bond and creative cohesion are stronger and their collective energy is more irrepressible than ever. They have survived moments of uncertainty, bouts of anxiety, and years of challenges, only to emerge stronger: with an album that is as captivating and engaging as it is undeniable and uplifting. More than ten years after their first release, the decision to self-release the record is of great importance to the band. The new perspective gives them a very intense, free approach to their art. After starting their career so young, Echosmith began to question what kind of music they really wanted to make. They began a new, independent era with complete creative freedom and started songwriting and producing on their own as a kind of therapy and a way to have fun, to see what would develop organically. The result is both a sonic realignment and a return to their roots, stripping away the pop polish, embracing their true indie spirit and taking an alt-pop direction that best represents the band's original musical heart. The forthcoming album reveals who Echosmith really are at their core as young adults and as a family, exploring their marriages, doubts and fears, their spiritual journey and their evolving outlook on life during a
period of enormous personal growth on their own journey. It's a fascinating document of growth and self-discovery that comes across with the kind of raw sincerity that in turn invites listeners to share their own
honest experiences with the music. You can see for yourself in November when the trio comes to us on tour.
