EIGHTH GRADE [LOST in MEDIA?]

Coming of age in the age of social media: Kayla spends most of the day looking at her smartphone, the boundary between the virtual and real world is becoming increasingly blurred. How important are real encounters anymore?

The LOST in MEDIA film series uses 6 films from different genres to question our media consumption and the effects it has on us and society. The films focus on different aspects: Constant, unknowing observation - surveillance - staging and authenticity - self-perception - external perception - identity - AI and our own emotional world - media sensory overload and the increasing importance of interpersonal relationships.
