Eimsbüttel blüht auf
In the organizer's words:
On Friday, June 26, 2026, the Klimateam Eimsbüttel invites you once again to the free planting campaign "Eimsbüttel blossoms" in Wehbers Park from 3 to 5 pm. This year, the campaign is taking place as a public event as part of Hamburg Sustainability Week. Once again, you are invited to fill your flower boxes and pots on site with free insect-friendly plants and peat-free soil.
How can balconies, windowsills or front gardens become little oases for insects? Find out for yourself! Together with local environmental initiatives, we will show you how easy it is to create natural greenery and how you can contribute to more biodiversity in the city. Look forward to meeting NABU Eimsbüttel, Moin Stadtnatur of the Loki Schmidt Foundation, the Hamburg regional group of NaturGarten e.V. and Abpflastern Hamburg. These initiatives will provide you with tips on nature-oriented gardening, green sponsorships and planting wildflower meadows. You can try out small urban nature projects at interactive stations. The Eimsbüttel bookshop will also be on site with its seed bank. This invites you to swap, sow and harvest new varieties.
Café Nasch will provide snacks and drinks on site.
Please note: Flower boxes and pots are not provided and must be brought along. Two plants and soil per person are free of charge. Plants and soil are available while stocks last. Participation is free of charge. Registration is not required. The campaign is supported by climate funds from the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
