AN ACTED STORM AND A REAL THUNDERSTORM

based on William Shakespeare's "The Tempest"

A remote island. Ariel, Caliban and Prospero in search of truth in a shared memory that is always in motion, like the sea. Suddenly the ghosts of the past appear. Prospero's revenge smashes their luxury party boat to pieces in a storm.

The demons wash up on the island and everything leads straight to a real storm, because Prospero's claim to power is based on coercion and submission.

Shakespeare's Tempest is a story that is not about the possession of absolute power, but about a person giving it up. Timeless in its theme of appropriation and control of the world, tragicomic in its failure, poetic and profound like the Mariana Trench. We perform in our own translation and adaptation for a cross-generational audience, merging acting, sound and video art, paper and puppet theater.
