Ein Stück Land

Siblings Toni, Lou and Mo have inherited their parents' farm. While Mo lives there and lovingly takes care of the farm as a small agricultural business, Lou and Toni have other ideas. Wouldn't a vacation on the farm be more lucrative, or would using the land as a renaturation area for moors be more meaningful? Torn between nostalgic childhood memories, the confrontation with a reality controlled by commerce and their own responsibility for the climate, the siblings negotiate their points of view. But the farm itself also has its say: the animals reflect on the history of domestication and a farmer's wife and her maid from a distant generation poetically merge the present and the past.
Following the successful premiere of Miriam V. Lesch's play "Wald" in Oldenburg, "Ein Stück Land" has now been commissioned by the Staatstheater. The playwright continues her cycle about the relationship between man and nature and combines several levels with profound and recognizable conflicts of our time with linguistic ease.
