It’s always fascinating to watch potters at work on the wheel. To see how the lump of clay, centered on the wheel, transforms into a vessel under the shaping hands. Have you always wanted to try your hand at the wheel? In our introductory courses, you’ll learn the basic techniques of throwing on the potter’s wheel—from preparation (setting up your own workspace, kneading the clay) to centering, throwing, and finally finishing the piece. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to make simple vessels on your own. Each course participant has their own foot-powered potter’s wheel at their disposal.
