Right-wing movements are booming. Nationalist movements are gaining strength around the globe and authoritarian governments are implementing racist and violent programs. The concept of fascism serves to capture many of these elements and subject them to criticism. At the same time, the accusation of fascism is used inflationarily and it almost seems as if the term is only used to brand political opponents with relatively arbitrary intentions. The lecture offers a way out of this misery and offers to define the term theoretically, because a precise knowledge of the subject is a basic prerequisite for anti-fascist practice.
