The new concert program NEO(N) by Elbtonal Percussion, Germany's most renowned percussion ensemble, sounds like a universal film score of life. It takes you to places where you wouldn't necessarily expect to find a classically trained ensemble: urban spaces, clubs, the neon-lit night.
NEO(N) celebrates African and Japanese drum cultures and is dedicated to artistic border crossers such as Radiohead, Keiko Abe and Therry de Mey. Their spherical chamber music is cast in a new light in the Elbtonal sound laboratory and contrasted with works by the great pioneers of classical and contemporary music such as Iannis Xenakis, Philipp Glass and Johann Sebastian Bach.
"Their performance in loud and quiet, poetic and rocky soundscapes is a new discovery every moment."
