Celebrated worldwide for her impressive virtuosity and unique temperament, Vilde Frang is one of the most sought-after violinists of our time. The Neue Zürcher Zeitung wrote aptly about the Norwegian that she makes music "with her hand in the socket". This passionate approach is perfectly suited to Bartók's Second Violin Concerto, which mixes up its classical structure with an electrifying stylistic variety. In Dresden, the thoroughbred musician will perform with the hr-Sinfonieorchester, unquestionably one of the best orchestras in Germany. Together with their French chief conductor Alain Altinoglu, the Frankfurt musicians will perform one of the most brilliant symphonic works in the second part of the concert: Brahms' Symphony No. 4, which initially had a somewhat difficult time after its premiere, as its beginning seemed somewhat abstract to contemporaries. Today, however, it is precisely this poetic beginning, the joyous frenzy of the third movement and the solemn finale that make the Fourth one of the most popular symphonies of all.
