Following the acclaimed novel "Salonfähig" (Zsolnay 2021), the sixth novel by Viennese author Elias Hirschl, "Content", will be published by Zsolnay/Hanser on January 29, 2024.

The world is coming to an end. But until then, the narrator in Elias Hirschl's new novel works at the content farm Smile Smile Inc. and writes meaningless list articles to generate clicks. (Number 7 will make you cry!) They are just as meaningless as the memes and YouTube videos her colleagues produce. Or the start-ups that her boyfriend Jonas founds on a weekly basis while the city burns.

With Content, Hirschl once again succeeds in creating a "perfect novel satire that reaches the highest level" (Neue Zürcher Zeitung), this time about the ChatGPT generation. Political, prophetic and funny at least until the laughter gets stuck in your throat ...

Elias Hirschl was born in Vienna in 1994. He is an author, musician, slam poet and writes for theater and radio. In 2020 he received the Reinhard Priessnitz Prize.
