The Theaterakademie August Everding has been enriching the program in our historic Silbersaal with great productions from the Master's Musical course since 2015. This year's program includes Elise & Paul, a historical jukebox dramedy. It is about the outrageous affair between the actress Elise Kreuzer and Paul von Thurn und Taxis, the wing adjutant and childhood sweetheart of King Ludwig II.

A SCANDALOUS LOVE STORY

Munich in June 1866: The move to the Bavarian metropolis represents a career leap for the very young soprano and actress Elise Kreuzer. When she is apparently sought out by Ludwig II in her dressing room after a performance, the singer uses her charm and wit to win over the supposed monarch. A passionate affair breaks out between the two theater enthusiasts. However, it soon transpires that Elise has not fallen in love with the Wittelsbach regent, but with his astonishingly similar-looking wing adjutant Paul von Thurn und Taxis , who in turn has an intimate relationship with the fairytale king. This risky love affair is just the beginning of turbulent entanglements that lead Elise and Paul into a social minefield...

Based on historical facts and peppered with pop and rock music hits, this crazy jukebox dramedy promises a rollercoaster of emotions and entertaining entertainment as a staged reading for two aspiring artists!
