The year is 2014, and tech billionaire Elon Musk is presenting his plans for a self-driving car to an enthusiastic audience. What consumers don't know is that Tesla's 'Autopilot' feature is nowhere near road-ready and that new owners are being used to improve the software by providing their data.

Shocking footage from dashcams and surveillance cameras shows the recklessness of Tesla cars braking or accelerating suddenly - and the accidents that follow. Then an employee publishes thousands of documents with complaints from users.

This investigative film traces Musk's meteoric rise and his shift towards supporting Donald Trump, who puts corporate success above safety regulations. Interviews with victims and their families, as well as journalists and former Tesla employees, reveal a climate in which an unfinished product is brought to market - and public space is used as a deadly testing ground.
