His look, his voice, his legendary hip swing: with one billion records sold, Elvis Presley is considered the most successful solo artist of all time. "ELVIS - The Musical" is packed with all his greatest hits and is a unique journey through the life of the rock'n'roll icon. The successful production has already thrilled over half a million spectators and will celebrate the 90th birthday of the "King" in 2025 on a major tour of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Elvis Aaron Presley, born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, became the "King of Rock'n'Roll" and the most important representative of 20th century rock and pop culture in the course of his incomparable career. Presley gave his last concert in June 1977 before officially passing away shortly afterwards on August 16 from a sudden cardiac arrest at his Graceland estate in Memphis, Tennessee. But his death is still surrounded by legends and myths that make Presley unforgotten to this day. For his fans, he is still alive - at least in their hearts. The show spectacle brings the "King" back on stage and celebrates the life's work and the 90th birthday of this exceptional artist.
An impressive tribute to the "King of Rock'n'Roll"
Emotional, powerful-voiced and rousing: with "ELVIS - The Musical", audiences can experience the idol of an entire generation up close once again at various stages of his life. From the first studio recording as a present for his mother, to the beginnings with Sam Philipps at Sun Records and the first single released, "That's All Right" in 1954, to the superlative concert "Aloha from Hawaii" in 1973 in the Honolulu International Center Arena, which was the first concert by a solo artist to be broadcast via satellite to over 40 countries around the world and achieved a higher audience rating in the USA than the first moon landing a few years earlier.
The two-and-a-half-hour live spectacle brings the magic of the rock'n'roll icon back to the stage and presents Elvis Presley's entire musical repertoire live - from gospel to blues to uninhibited rock'n'roll - and gives an impressive review of his life.
The "best Elvis performer since Elvis" and the seven-piece "Las Vegas Showband"
With Grahame Patrick, the tribute to the "King" has the world's "best Elvis performer since Elvis" in its ranks. When he steps into the spotlight in his world-famous white jumpsuit and other authentic outfits, you could be forgiven for thinking you were seeing Elvis Presley in the flesh on stage. Grahame Patrick also shines with an impressive vocal proximity to the original, which he demonstrates time and again throughout the show.
He is accompanied by first-class singers, actors, showgirls and the seven-piece "Las Vegas Showband", who create an unforgettable musical experience - and of course all the hits are performed live: From "Love Me Tender" and "Jailhouse Rock" to "Suspicious Minds", as well as gospel songs such as "Why me, Lord?" and "How Great Thou Art", the live version of which won a Grammy Award in Memphis in 1974. Elaborate choreography, play scenes and original film sequences guide us through Elvisʻ life and round off the show spectacle wonderfully.
Companions and contemporary witnesses make the show unique
In addition to the outstanding protagonists, "ELVIS - The Musical" also owes its uniqueness to the inclusion of real contemporary witnesses and companions. Ed Enoch, leader of the legendary "The Stamps Quartet", was on stage with Elvis at over 1,000 concerts from 1971 to 1977 and sang at his funeral. The Stamps Quartet is the oldest professional gospel quartet in the history of the United States that is still active. Ed Enoch will once again support the show live with his "Stamps" in 2025. Also included is original film and photo material from Elvis' former tour manager and concert photographer Ed Bonja (†). He supported producer Bernhard Kurz and tour organizer Oliver Forster with his insider knowledge in addition to his Elvis photographs and recordings during the creation of the musical.
