We are all united in finiteness - who, where or when we are.

Our own end is inherent in all of us, we are confronted with the fact that things come to an end. Big and small, everyday and existential.

What they all have in common is that they end - whether we want them to or not.

Mascha Corman, musician and sound artist from Düsseldorf, tackles the subject of finiteness from a musical perspective. How do you make transience audible? What does the end sound like?

Together with two other artists, Corman explores this question in a unique performance.

At the center of the work "Floating Stone" by photographer and visual artist Tino Kukulies is - a stone.

stone. A stone formed from lava from Mount Etna. A volcano that seems to have the power of the end due to its sheer force of nature, and yet so many new things can emerge from its outpouring. In contrast - the delicate, almost ephemeral works on paper by artist Ines Glowania, who adapts Corman's song lyrics and transforms them into small-format works. Works that are ephemeral, paper that breaks, colors that fade.

The location, a drained pool, also functions as a symbol of endings and beginnings. Water flows, starts somewhere, ends (n)somewhere. The former indoor pool, at the end of its original purpose, literally creates space for something new.

Space, sound and visuals merge into a large whole, which can be experienced in the moment and yet is scheduled for the duration of the performance. And yet not quite - to make the end more bearable, the sound still echoes...
