„Erinnern heißt hinschauen“ – Open-Air-Kino und Filmgespräch mit den prämierten Dokumentarfilmen „Einhundertvier“ und „Moria Six“

On June 20, the Nikolaikirchhof will be transformed into a free public open-air cinema for one day. To mark the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Flight and Expulsion, the Friedliche Revolution Foundation's Revolutionale project is bringing the award-winning documentaries "One Hundred and Four" and "Moria Six" into the public space and inviting people to talk to filmmakers about flight, human rights and social responsibility.

The documentary "One Hundred and Four" (film starts at 3 pm) accompanies the crew of a civilian rescue ship on the Mediterranean during a mission to save 104 people in acute distress at sea. The film impressively shows the life-threatening conditions of many escape routes as well as the commitment of people who take responsibility where political solutions fail to materialize.

"Moria Six" (film starts at 6 pm) tells the story of six young refugees who were arrested under questionable circumstances and sentenced to long prison terms after the Moria camp on the Greek island of Lesbos was burned down. Three of the defendants were only acquitted in spring 2025 after years of proceedings. The film shows how quickly people can be disenfranchised and socially marginalized - and raises questions about the rule of law, human rights and social exclusion.

Between the film screenings, presenter Carsten Möller will hold a discussion with "One Hundred and Four" director Jonathan Schörnig and others. The focus will be on the experiences during filming and the tense relationship between state action, individual responsibility and social solidarity.
