Erzähl-Salon "Von Menschen und Maschinen"
In the organizer's words:
After the summer break, the storytelling salon “Of People and Machines” is moving to a new location and will take place at “Café Camus” starting in September.
Before the summer break, there will be a particularly lovely farewell salon on Monday, July 6, 2026, at the equally wonderful Castelltreff.
This time, the topic is:
The Pope’s AI Encyclical
In his encyclical titled “Magnifica humanitas—On the Preservation of Humanity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” Pope Leo XIV reflects on ethics and power in our digital world. The Pope talking about AI? Does that make sense? As a mathematician and an American, how does Pope Leo view current developments in artificial intelligence? The mere fact thata pope is speaking so decisively about AI is reason enough for us to explore this together—because, like the pope, we, too, are discussing humans and machines.
Come one, come all! I look forward to seeing you all!
If you’d like to take a look at the encyclical in advance, you can do so here: https://www.vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/de/encyclicals/documents/20260515-magnifica-humanitas.html
But that’s not a requirement. As always, the Story Salon is accessible to everyone and has no prerequisites (other than curiosity).
Open to everyone—we welcome participants of all ages.
