As a teacher and mayor in a community of 400 people in the heart of Brittany, Alice (played by Julia Piaton) is working at full capacity. When the headstrong Émile (played by Michel Blanc) decides to learn to read and write at the age of 65 and enrols in Alice's class, she is more than challenged. But that's not all: suddenly her school is about to close and Alice sees the entire village life in danger. Now good advice is expensive. But it soon becomes clear that the joint efforts of Alice and the villagers and a few clever ideas can make a big difference.
