Esbjörn Svensson Tribute
In this special concert evening, pianist Stephanie Troscheit and her trio pay tribute to the music of Swedish pianist and composer Esbjörn Svensson, one of the pioneers of modern European jazz. His compositions combine lyrical depth, rhythmic energy, and great sonic openness—qualities that continue to inspire musicians worldwide to this day.
In addition to selected works by Esbjörn Svensson, the program features Stephanie Troscheit’s own compositions as well as free improvisations that capture the spirit of his music and bring it into the present.
For this concert, the trio will be joined by the renowned Bonn-based flutist Michael Heupel. His expressive and multifaceted playing already captivated the audience during a joint concert last year. His rarely heard subcontrabass flute also promises a special sonic experience, lending the program an extraordinary timbre.
