An intense insight into a young woman's experiences with addiction and self-discovery

After more than a decade, Rona (Saoirse Ronan) returns to her home in the remote Orkney Islands. As she rediscovers the unique landscape in which she grew up, her childhood memories intermingle with the last time she was an addict. Her departure for the city at the time and the subsequent dissolute years in London ended in a painful crash. But little by little, the encounter with the harsh nature of the islands becomes an opportunity for a new life.
