On the occasion of the European Football Championship 2024, Munich is celebrating a party of international word art. Seven poets from four countries celebrate, roast or absurdize soccer and other phenomena of life. The rapper, folk singer and multi-instrumentalist Dizraeli is coming from the UK. He won the BBC Poetry Slam Championship and has performed for Saul Williams and Mos Def. Another guest from the UK is spoken word activist Vanessa Kisuule. The stage poet shines with wit, style and political messages. Poet and performance artist Narcisse from French-speaking Switzerland will be doing the honors. He uses his voice and microphone like precision tools for his linguistic art. The current German team text champions are traveling from Austria. Lisa Rothhardt and Christoph Steiner combine acapella, spoken word and theater sports with their team Tommy and Annika. From Berlin, we welcome Bas Böttcher, whose texts oscillate between wordplay and song lyrics. - He is the first German poetry slam champion and has caused a sensation at festivals from Melbourne to Rio de Janeiro. This entertaining expedition into the realm of words will be presented by Frank Klötgen (Münchner Lach- und Schießgesellschaft).
