Adventure, sport and lots of emotion

The EOFT is back and Sophie Planque is on board. The photojournalist sets off on a journey from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego on her bike: a visually stunning epic that focuses sensitively and intensely on the individual moment. 972 Breakdowns is about the adventure of a lifetime. Five art students ride their Ural motorcycles through Russia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia to New York, among other places, and perhaps create a new art form in the process: breakdown theater and, like any art form, this fulfills an end in itself and shows that sometimes the journey really is the destination. World-class alpine sport can be seen in Triple Edge. Michi Wohlleben and Lukas Hinterberger celebrate an alpine world premiere on the Salbitschijen (2985m) and in the mountain bike film The Nine Wheels, a Swiss family refuses to surrender to their fate, instead proving that solidarity gives hope and thus overcomes boundaries.

THE GREAT TRAVERSE

Bike adventure: Sophie Planque and Jérémy Vaugeois cycle from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego. During their two-and-a-half-year journey, Sophie not only documents the fascinating landscapes of North, Central and South America with her camera, but also the encounters with the most diverse people that she and Jérémy meet along the way. And by the end of their journey, the two have not only gotten to know two continents and their inhabitants better, but also themselves.

972 BREAKDOWNS

Johannes, Elisabeth, Efy, Anne and Kaupo have just finished their art studies and now they want to see the world, experience foreign cultures and gather new impressions. They set off for New York on four Russian Ural motorcycles with sidecars. From Halle (Saale), they will travel through Eastern Europe, Kazakhstan and Mongolia to the far north of Russia. From there, they want to cross the Bering Strait to North America. But before they get that far, the five have to overcome countless breakdowns, because their motorcycles are old and anything but reliable.

THE NINE WHEELS

Park in Europe. They live in a mobile home with their parents Toni and Laetitia and train at a different location every few days. But the mountain bike paradise has its downsides: Laetitia suffers from a neurodegenerative disease - all the more reason for the family to live fully in the now.

SUMMITS IN THE SKY

The team led by French paraglider Antoine Girard sets course for the Karakoram and explores the airspace between the region's mighty eight- and seven-thousand-meter peaks with its paragliders. Even though oxygen quickly becomes scarce at high altitudes, a new paragliding altitude record is within the team's grasp.

TRIPLE EDGE

The two alpinists and mountain guides Michi Wohlleben and Lukas Hinterberger are taking on a special alpine challenge. They want to climb the three ridges of the Salbitschijen (2985m) for the first time in winter. They are about to embark on an adventure at an altitude of almost 3000 meters.

SHIFTING

Snowboarder Camille Armand is known for his artistic and fast riding style. In his home town of Chamonix, the 30-year-old rides out of competition. But in the Norwegian Lyngen Alps, Monsieur Armand's flair for snow is even more impressive - and absolutely suitable for the big screen.
