Ellen Obier is the core of Evergreen Affair - singer, lyricist, sound painter. Her voice tells stories, sometimes whispering, sometimes powerful, always sincere. She moves freely between jazz, chanson, pop and soulful colors, with an expressiveness that touches and resonates. Her lyrics are poetic and direct, her presence on stage charismatic and full of energy. Rafael (Rafi) Jung is the driving force behind it all. His piano playing is grounded and yet light, sometimes almost cinematic. Oliver (Oli) Kuiper's guitar sounds as if it is speaking. Warm, intelligent, playful. You can hear his roots in jazz immediately, but his playing never stays within the genre. Wojtek Krys is not a drummer in the classical sense - he is an architect of sound. With delicate rhythms and an incredibly fine sense of dynamics, he weaves arcs of tension and creates spaces in which the music can breathe.
