How did the exhibited objects come to Berlin? Who were the actors involved in the regions of origin? Who brought them here and why? Did they enter the collections during the colonial period? What significance did they have and still have in the countries of origin, and is their storage and presentation in the museum still appropriate today?

These questions will be discussed with provenance researchers, who will retrace the path of the objects in dialogue with representatives from the countries of origin.
