ExtraTour: Fish and Ships
In the organizer's words:
Our museum ship, the GERA—the last German side trawler—has arrived at the shipyard for an overhaul. But what exactly is a “side trawler,” and what do this type of ship and the fishing industry have to do with Bremerhaven? Why is a fishing trawler like this so special? During a guided tour, research associate Malte Kirchhof will explain the historical connection to the city’s history.
