Fabian Hiller, ÆTHERIUM
In the organizer's words:
In his paintings, Fabian Hiller combines analog and digital techniques to create a hybrid pictorial space. The starting point for his works are visual phenomena generated by screens, simulations, and technical devices, which appear as abstract images from the very beginning. Just as photography transforms reality, the digital space also generates its own visual logic, which Hiller translates back into painting.
The result is pictorial spaces in which forms fold, overlap, or dissolve, oscillating between depth and surface. The forms often appear as holographic apparitions within an artificial, simulated space. It is precisely in this tension that the paradox of his work unfolds: the retranslation of digital visual worlds into the physical reality of color, materiality, and canvas.
Fabian Anton Hiller (born 1997 in Mainz) has been studying under Thomas Scheibitz at the Düsseldorf Art Academy since 2022.
