Fahrradkino mit dem Film „Alles ist erleuchtet“

As part of the Year of Jewish Culture in Saxony 2026, the Vehicle Museum invites you to a special movie night:

On November 28, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., the Fahrradkino will screen the award-winning film “Everything Is Illuminated” here at the museum.

This evening combines “biking” in an entertaining way with the focus of the Year of Jewish Culture in Saxony: “[…] to increase knowledge and understanding of Jewish life, Jewish culture, tradition, and religion. […]”

So while the audience pedals, the film “Everything Is Illuminated” will be shown.  In this 2005 comedy-drama, American student Jonathan (played by Elijah Wood) sets out on an epic journey to a sleepy—but supposedly cursed—Ukrainian village to find the woman who shaped his life in the past. He’s accompanied by the quirky but lovable guide Alex (Eugene Hütz), who has more secrets than a Russian KGB agent and constantly cracks everyone up with absurd one-liners and crazy ideas. As Jonathan tries to unravel the past, he stumbles upon a series of eccentric villagers, each with their own wild stories to tell.

This evening offers attendees the chance to engage with Jewish history and the present day. To power the film—in true tradition—we need eight bicycles (20–28 inches, without hub gears), which are secured to the fir-green bike-cinema stations. So: pull your bike out of the garage, come on by, and start pedaling!
