In the organizer's words:

Out of the city - into the countryside!

Looking for a change from everyday life? Then join us on a relaxed, family-friendly cycle tour through the green side of Wilhelmsburg - Europe's largest river island!

Together we will discover wide meadows, idyllic fields and exciting nature projects over a distance of around 18 km. We start at Wilhelmsburg S-Bahn station, from where we cycle through the Stillhorn marshland to the Kreetsand dyke reclamation project - a place where the Elbe is being allowed to reclaim its natural habitat.

We continue along the main dyke to Bunthäuser Spitze. Here we take a well-deserved break: Enjoy the view of the branching Elbe from the lighthouse and treat yourself to a piece of cake in the cozy café on site.

Freshly fortified, we immerse ourselves in the fascinating world of freshwater floodplains - with exciting insights at the Elbe Tidal Floodplain Center and an exploration of the Heuckenlock nature reserve.

Finally, the route takes us past the BUND nature experience garden in the Inselpark back to the starting point.

The special feature: There are little hands-on tasks along the way that make the tour a real experience for young and old!

Get on your bike now and rediscover nature!
