Three people, one ping-pong table. An intimate performance about queer and progressive family models and social controversies.

A pair of lovers, a pair of siblings, three people, one ping-pong table. The astonishing setting in FAMILY TRIANGLE, a family triangle, aims to renegotiate the foundations of family: Family is something that emerges, not something that is fixed. In this stage experiment, relationships are not asserted, but tried out, shifted and rearranged.
In many countries around the world, queer lifestyles are nothing unusual. The human desire to have children of one's own, on the other hand, and in particular the path to having them, often presents many couples with legally and culturally complex situations, even though marriage has been recognized for same-sex couples in many places. Questions about parenthood, reproduction and the legal protection of queer families nevertheless remain socially and politically controversial.
The production from Taipei takes these realities seriously without problematizing them. Instead, the play opens up a space in which different forms of family become conceivable side by side. Director Hung Chien-Han, her younger brother Hung Wei-Yao, an actor, and lighting designer Ray Tseng are not just an artistic production team. The three of them living together forms the basis of the performance FAMILY TRIANGLE.
An amazing ping-pong between video and play scenes, addressing the audience and other theatrical tricks takes everyone on a road trip of intense negotiations of the performers' personal, highly intimate topics.
