FASTER PUSSYCAT

They've been around for over 40 years and are as loud and shrill as ever: hard and glam rock epigones Faster Pussycat are coming to Germany in September for three shows in Hamburg, Berlin and Cologne!

From the depths of the LA glam rock scene that dominated the mid-80s, a group of non-conformist youngsters brought their own brand of outlaw rock to the masses. Not glam, not punk, but somewhere in between, with their own attitude and vibe. Led by Taime Downe, the self-proclaimed king of the dirty, Faster Pussycat was his baby.

Overnight, this ragtag team of troublemakers landed a record deal with Elektra Records and released their self-titled debut album in 1987, which included instant glam rock classics like "Babylon", "Bathroom Wall", "Cathouse" and "Don't Change That Song". Never really conforming to the mainstream pattern, Faster Pussycat toured with artists such as Alice Cooper, Mötley Crüe, David Lee Roth, Motörhead, Whitesnake, Guns N' Roses and Kiss.

They soon released their second album "Wake Me When It's Over". With that album, it became clear that the band was taking on increasingly darker images and themes, as could also be seen on their third album "Whipped!" (1992). With all the attention Faster Pussycat was getting, however, things became difficult; after the Whipped! tour, they disbanded for the time being.

It wasn't until 2001 that someone brought up the idea of a new Faster Pussycat tour. So Taime organized a reboot of the band with a darker vibe. The next few years were to be some of the most exciting, raw, provocative and productive.
Taime began to put together the pieces that would later become the first Faster Pussycat album in nearly a decade: "The Power And The Glory Hole" became an instant classic. Today, Faster Pussycat continue to tour extensively around the world and Taime is currently working hard on new material for another studio album.

On their three German shows, Faster Pussycat will be accompanied by Blacklist Union and Lorraine Lewis, the front woman of Femme Fatal.
