In the organizer's words:
The Spaniard Lucía Martínez recognized the power and sound behind percussion at an early age during courses in traditional Galician percussion. This was followed by a degree in classical percussion, another in jazz percussion and composition, and finally film music. All of this is mixed together in her music: Galicia meets flamenco, jazz meets improvisation. And she goes further - experimenting with everyday objects, exploding classical percussion in all directions. What remains? Rhythm that goes straight to the heart. A shared heartbeat moment in HELLERAU.
