Beer is a fascinating interplay of raw materials, the brewing process, and sensory analysis. But what happens when undesirable flavors creep in?

In this seminar, we’ll dive into the world of off-flavors together and taste eight selected samples of flavors that can occur in beer. Exactly which off-flavors will be featured remains a surprise until the seminar.

Under the expert guidance of Dirk Hetkamp, supported by Bernd Unger, you’ll learn to recognize and describe typical sensory defects and understand their causes. Both are trained brewers with many years of experience and in-depth knowledge of brewing processes and beer sensory analysis.

During the seminar, you’ll learn about the individual flavors in isolation and how they relate to beer production, storage, and serving. The goal is to train your own sensory skills and develop a deeper understanding of which process errors are responsible for these flavors.

After the seminar, there will of course still be time to enjoy delicious beer from 14 taps and hundreds more from the fridge. Our two brewers will be available to answer any further questions and talk shop with you in a relaxed, beer-filled setting.
