At first glance, Vera and Wolf and their two children Nina and Simon lead a picture-book family life in Berlin: they live in a chic apartment, he jets around the world as an expert on UN sustainability issues, she takes the children to nursery and works as a civil engineer on the side. But when their busy daily routine leads to increasing stress and frustration and Nina suffers from a developmental delay, change is urgently needed: one evening, Nina asks her father for a million minutes to spend on the finer things in life. The family soon turns their lives upside down, leaves Berlin and moves to Thailand and Iceland for two years - to make the most of every minute of life.
