“Sisters are doin’ it for themselves.” This well-known song by the Eurythmics could just as easily serve as the title for this evening. It also symbolizes all the feminist efforts and movements of recent decades.

Over the centuries, women have played a decisive role in shaping music history, yet their works have often been pushed into the background or even forgotten. With their program “Feminine Soundscapes,” the duo Amabile invites you to discover the significant contributions of female composers from various eras of music history. From the medieval mystic Hildegard von Bingen to Romantic greats such as Clara Schumann and Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel, all the way to the modern voices of Nadia Boulanger, Ester Mägi, and Graciane Finzi, an impressive spectrum of female creativity is presented.
