Malandain Ballet Biarritz (FR)
In the organizer's words:
The Malandain Ballet Biarritz is highly regarded by audiences far beyond Leverkusen. Following its last guest performance—an evening of Stravinsky in May 2024— the company is now returning to the Forum—and it’s doing so before Thierry Malandain hands over the artistic direction of his 22-dancer ensemble to Martin Harriague in 2027, a name that is no stranger to Leverkusen audiences.
Malandain’s visually stunning choreography to music by Antonio Vivaldi and his contemporary Giovanni Antonio Guido will provide a virtuoso opening to the 2026–2027 dance season at the Forum. The recorded music is provided by the co-producing Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal, featuring Stefan Plewniak and Andrés Gabetta, and The Band of Instruments, featuring Caroline Balding, under the direction of Roger Hamilton.
