André Butzer, born in Stuttgart in 1973, is a visual artist who can be placed somewhere between expressionism and Disney, pop art and conceptual art. Mannheim-based director Rudij Bergmann, who was recently awarded the prestigious Baerwind Prize, has accompanied Butzer on film for many years. Whether on the cold winter streets of Manhattan, in the historic Marais in Paris, on the windy beach of Venice in Los Angeles, in the picture warehouse in Rangsdorf near Berlin or in the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid - it is always about art and the multi-layered artistic visions of the internationally active André Butzer.

The film, which Bergmann defines as a "timeless document" beyond transient topicality, was made possible by the filmmaker's long-standing friendship with the Stuttgart collector couple Rudolf and Ute Scharpff. Rudij Bergmann has dedicated his Butzer film to them.

Rudij Bergmann presents his film in person.

The world-class guitarist and composer Claus Boesser-Ferrari, who wrote the film music, will perform a musical dedication to the filmmaker composed especially for Bergmann live in the movie theater.
