This groundbreaking ethno-fiction follows the inhabitants of the Canadian island of Île-aux-Coudres as they revive their centuries-old tradition of beluga whaling - resulting from the filmmakers' encounter with the fishing community. A documentary panorama that poetically captures the life and spirituality, the rituals and legends of the islanders and questions the distinction between the observers and the observed.
