The Findorff Heimatverein Grasberg e.V. presents Findorff Hof Musik, together with the municipality of Grasberg, The Emotional.Zone, Cafe-Schwarz.TV, Rausgegangen Bremen and DownTown Island Radio,

Scottish-born Joanna Scott Douglas, who lives in Sandstedt (Hagen im Bremischen), was invited by Sandy Brechin to one of his sessions in Edinburgh in 2009. Here they both had the idea of organizing a tour in the Bremen area with Sandy and his friends. The "Sandy Brechin & Friends" Tour Germany was born. Sandy's Friends have been friends for years and often play together in various combinations at sessions and ceilidhs. In Scotland, a ceilidh is a social gathering with music, singing and Scottish dancing.

This year's line-up is small but mighty with Sandy Brechin (accordion) and Julia Dignan (fiddle) from Scotland as well as Joanna Scott Douglas (vocals, bodhrán) and Jan Jedding (guitar, vocals).

As always, fiery tunes, beautiful ballads and wry humor are part of the package. Guests at Sandy Brechin & Friends events love the first-class Scottish music, singing and entertainment - Sandy's humor leaves hardly a dry eye in the house.

Sandy Brechin (accordion)
Sandy Brechin - from Edinburgh, is one of Scotland's best known accordion players, leader of the band "Burach", "The Jimi Shandrix Experience" and "The Sandy Brechin Band". Founder of Brechin All Records, recording and producing the best of Scotland's new folk music. Over the years Sandy has recorded an enormous number of CDs and has performed all over the world including The Scottish Folk Festival Tour of Germany in 1996 and 2000 and can be heard every year at the famous Edinburgh Festival. Sandy can regularly be seen and heard on television and radio in his native Scotland.
During the pandemic he has performed his own hilarious "Sandy on Sunday" show, entertaining and delighting people all over the world. It has been so successful that he still surprises and entertains his audience every Sunday!

Joanna Scott Douglas (vocals, bodhrán)
The Edinburgh-born singer and bodhrán player is known for her numerous performances, including with her bands MARIE'S WEDDING, SANDY BRECHIN & FRIENDS. She has performed in many cities in Germany, Ireland, England and in her home country Scotland with top-class musicians such as Sandy Brechin, Charlie McKerron & Brian O 'hEadhra from Scotland, Tim O'Shea from Ireland.
She and her life partner, guitarist Jan Jedding, released their debut CD in 2017, which received very good reviews in Germany, Scotland and Ireland (including Living Tradition Magazine). It has been nominated for the German Record Award 2017.

Jan Jedding (guitar, vocals)
Jan Jedding's musical roots lie in the English and American folk of the 1960s and 1970s and extend to jazz and swing. He is fascinated by the fingerstyle guitar and his great role models John Renbourn and Bert Jansch. This versatility shines through his playing and makes him a popular cornerstone in various bands such as MARIE'S WEDDING, SANDY BRECHIN & FRIENDS BOOTS OR BAGS. He has often played on stage with Sandy Brechin and his guitar playing and pleasant warm voice and harmonies have been highly praised on the joint debut CD "Both Sides" with singer Joanna Scott Douglas.

Julia Dignan (Fiddle)
Julia is now an integral part of the Sandy Brechin & Friends tour and is delighted to be returning to Germany for the first time since the pandemic. Having grown up in Montrose on the east coast of Scotland, Julia now lives in Edinburgh where she is well known in traditional music circles. Julia's versatile playing was showcased on her 2019 album "The Tea Wifie", which has been well received both at home and abroad and is being played on radio worldwide. She is equally at home in small folk clubs as she is performing to large audiences, whether dancing or listening. Recent highlights include appearances at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo at Sydney's ANZ Stadium and on BBC Radio Scotland's long-running Scottish dance music program Take the Floor. When she's not performing, Julia can also be found playing for fun in some of Edinburgh's lively traditional music pubs. There are always new people to meet and new tunes to learn!

We would like to encourage you to come and give unknown musicians a chance, the entrance fee of 10€ is therefore a good value, at the Box Office 12€.
