Galerie Judith Andreae cordially invites you to the finissage of Natalie Brehmer's first solo exhibition in Bonn, in which the artist explores the themes of sport, memory and performative practice from an autobiographically tinged perspective.
The central point of reference is the figure of her father, who took part in the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City as a long-distance runner. In her works, she examines the structural parallels between high-performance sport and the art world: discipline, competition, constant pressure and the pursuit of success - and counteracts these mechanisms with a visual language that is deliberately coded in female terms.
The artist will be present.
