First Women Filmmakers in Lithuania, presented by Meno Avilys and curated by Dr. Lina Kaminskaitė-Jančorienė, presents six newly restored documentaries by pioneering Lithuanian women directors. Spanning five decades - from the Soviet era to the early years of independence - the program unfolds in two parts: one about women's everyday lives and professions, the other about female artists and creative voices. The films combine different styles and open up a multi-layered social and cultural history from a female perspective.
