FLINTA, Flucht & Feminismus mit Leila Kayyali

Flight and feminism are closely linked: the combination of racism, sexism and anti-feminism provides the basis for intersectional discrimination. We want to talk together about different types of feminism, FLINTA*-specific reasons for flight and gender roles in an international context and exchange ideas. Our speaker, Leila Kayyali, will introduce us to these topics with a presentation.

My name is Leila Kayyali, a political scientist and Master's student in Gender Studies from Bochum. I fled to Germany with my family via the Balkan route in 2015, after the start of the war in my hometown of Idleb in Syria. I am a human rights activist and currently working on a project in Dortmund about civic education of migrant young people, focusing on creating dialog and free learning spaces to enable participation. I am interested in topics such as identity, intersectionality and the narrative of female refugees.
