In the organizer's words:
at the Kesselhaus, the Kreativfabrik, the Skatehalle, and the Vogeltränke
a series of workshops for all FLINTA* people behind, in front of, and on stage
Creating spaces, growing together—on, behind, and in front of the stage. With a diverse range of workshops, we’re opening several spaces on July 4 on Murnaustraße where empowerment, networking, and artistic expression come together. It’s not about perfection, but about creating, sharing, and above all, growing together.
FLINTA* Music Lab is an existing workshop series that was launched in 2025 in collaboration with Schlachthof and Kreativfabrik and is aimed at all FLINTA* individuals (women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans, and agender people) who are generally interested in music, technology, and everything behind, in front of, and on stage.
On July 4, we’ll kick off the next round with several events. Advance registration is required; any remaining spots can be filled on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event. However, due to high demand, we recommend booking in advance via the ticket link.
Our program:
MUSIC WOMEN* HESSEN - COMMUNITY MEETUP / starting at 2 p.m. / VOGELTRÄNKE
At the Music Women* Hessen Community Meetup, we invite all workshop participants as well as FLINTA* individuals interested in music and culture to get to know one another, exchange ideas, and network at the Vogeltränke. In a relaxed atmosphere, there will be space for conversations about music, the scene, projects, and shared ideas.
OPEN COMMUNITY SPACE with KULTUR IM PARK / starting at 2 p.m. / KULTURPARK
At the Kulturpark in front of the Kesselhaus, you can share your experiences, ideas, and hopes and connect with other FLINTA*—exploring topics like inspiration and empowerment in the music and cultural scene, or what it takes to make spaces behind, in front of, and on stage feel safe and welcoming. On the Community Wall, a shared space is taking shape from your thoughts, experiences, and ideas for the future. At Art Play, you can express yourself freely and creatively—just as you see yourself or would like to see yourself. At Open Mic, there’s room for anything you want to share: texts, poetry, comedy, spoken word, or thoughts that move, empower, or inspire you.

DRUM CIRCLE WORKSHOP / 12:30–2:00 p.m. / KREATIVFABRIK
This drumming and rhythm workshop is open to both beginners and experienced FLINTA* drummers. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to try your hand at djembe, cajón, conga, and various small percussion instruments while playing together as a group, without any pressure to perform.
The drum circle is led byJasmin (she/her), who has been active as a drummer and DJane in the Rhine-Main region for many years. Jasmin lives with her wife near Mainz and has been active as a DJ in the queer scene in the Rhine-Main region for over 30 years. She has also been involved as a percussionist in several band projects and has been offering drum workshops for 15 years.
She’ll guide you step by step toward a shared group rhythm, offering support and playful encouragement, as well as the opportunity for free, creative drumming. Along the way, you’ll learn to listen to one another and appreciate each person’s contribution.
Instruments will be provided. You’re also welcome to bring your own hand drums.
SONGWRITING + PRODUCING WORKSHOP / 11 a.m.–2 p.m. / KREATIVFABRIK (UPPER FLOOR)
Do you constantly have melodies and your own lyrics in your head, or do you want to create your own beats? Then this 3-hour workshop is just right for you! Together, we’ll dive into the world of songwriting and music production—from the initial idea to the finished track.
You’ll get an introduction ranging from the first steps to tips and tricks for your initial productions. Here, you’ll not only learn the essentials but also receive valuable advice on your first steps in mixing and sound design.
Feel free to bring your laptop, your favorite software, audio samples of your productions, and headphones. But even if you don’t have any of these yet, you’re still welcome to join the workshop—it’s designed for everyone, from beginners to those with some experience.
The workshop will be led byAINIE (she/they)andAnnelie (she/her). Ainie is a producer, songwriter, mixing engineer, and sound designer from Frankfurt am Main. She writes and produces for artists* such as Chima, Finna, Mädness, and Döll, and has shared the stage with music legends like Buena Vista Social Club and the Weather Girls. Annelie, aka Aufmischen, is a trained music producer, songwriter, mixing and mastering engineer, and DJ from Frankfurt/Berlin. In 2023, she won the Female* Producer Prize and produces for artists such as Floss, Krankenschwester, and Galant. She also co-produced the soundtrack for the Prime series “Miss Sophie” with Michael Regner and performs on stage herself as a rapper, drummer, and DJ.
SCREEN PRINTING WORKSHOP / 11 a.m.–2 p.m. / GARTEN KREATIVFABRIK
Have you always wanted to print your own design on a T-shirt, a jute bag, or a hoodie and learn how screen printing works? That’s great, becauseKatrin (she/her)is really excited to help more people bring their creative ideas to life on fabrics, paper, and any kind of surface you can imagine.
Katrin is a freelance graphic designer from Wiesbaden. She fell in love with screen printing while she was in college. Her obsession with making things herself—with a healthy dose of “how hard can it be?”—probably stems from the fact that her grandma taught her how to knit socks when she was six. In addition to all the creative things one can do (crocheting, printing, knitting, making music), she’s a competitive shooter in the first Bundesliga and spends her weekends either at festivals, concerts, or at the shooting range.
The screen printing workshop isn’t about being perfect—it’s about doing it yourself. Mixing ink, pulling the squeegee, experimenting, making mistakes, and ultimately taking home something that’s truly yours.
Before we start printing together, we’ll cover the basics in a short theory session:
· Which screen is actually best suited for which print?
· Which inks work on which materials?
· How are screens exposed?
· And how can you screen print at home yourself using simple tools and without a huge workshop?
Then it’s time for the exciting part: PRINTING!
Just bring your own fabrics that you’d like to print on. Options include T-shirts, hoodies, jute bags, pillowcases, fabric scraps (which are great for sewing onto other garments later), or pants. The only important thing is that the fabrics consist (at least partially) of cotton or jute (100% polyester sports shirts aren’t suitable for the workshop).
We’ll print together, with paint on our hands and no stress. You’ll learn the entire process step by step, from preparing the fabric to finishing the printed pieces. At the end, you’ll not only take your self-printed pieces home with you, but also the knowledge of how to continue printing on your own.
There will be a small selection of designs available on-site for you to choose from for your prints. There will also be one design that works well on T-shirts (approximately DIN A4 size). Want to immortalize your very own design on something? No problem! Just send it to the following address, and Katrin will prepare the design for the workshop: hello@klowingdesigns.de
IMPORTANT: Thedesign should be no larger than 15 x 15 cm, single-color, and not a photo. Small illustrations or lettering work great. The deadline for submissions is June 19!
It’s best to wear clothes that can get dirty, because one thing is for sure: we’re going to make a mess ;)
FULLY BOOKED! / SOUND ENGINEERING WORKSHOP / 11 a.m.–2 p.m. / SCHLACHTHOF KESSELHAUS

Want to try your hand at sound engineering? Then the DIY Sound Engineering Workshop at the Kesselhaus is the perfect place for you!

FULLY BOOKED! / SCREAMING WORKSHOP / 11 a.m.–3 p.m. / SCHLACHTHOF KESSELHAUS
“Screaming” refers to a vocal technique in which one deliberately sings loudly and powerfully. This technique is primarily used in genres such as punk, metal, hardcore, and rock. It’s less about melodic singing and more about expressiveness and dynamics. However, it can also be integrated as a stylistic element in other genres. In this approximately 4-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to use your voice powerfully yet in a healthy way—whether on stage, as an outlet for emotions, or just for fun. The workshop will be led byLaura (she/her), who has been performing as a singer in the metal scene and with her band The Tex Avery Syndrome since she was 19. She has been teaching classes and workshops on harsh vocals and shouting for nearly three years. Workshop Objectives: 1. Warm-up 2. Understanding sound production and anatomy 3. Correct use of breathing 4. Understanding the importance of proper breathing and learning various breathing techniques 5. Isolating the vocal cords and first attempts at shouting 6. Cool-down
Each theoretical section will be followed by practical exercises. This workshop is suitable for both beginners and advanced participants who are not (yet) familiar with the technique and anatomy or who want to refine skills they’ve already acquired. No prior experience is required. Important: Please bring something to drink (water or tea; no dairy products or carbonated soft drinks) and a large towel.
FULLY BOOKED! / DJ WORKSHOP / 11 a.m.–2 p.m. / SCHLACHTHOF KESSELHAUS

Her diverse sound is characterized by dramatic synths and dark soundscapes. In addition, she is politically active with the association Music Women* Hessen, advocating for the equality of FLINTA* people in the music scene.

PAINT YOUR POWER WORKSHOP / 11 a.m.–2 p.m. / SKATEHALLE
FLINTA* are making a statement and picking up the brush themselves!
At PAINT YOUR POWER, you can let your creativity run wild and use small prompts to (re)discover your very own power and bring it to life on the canvas.
You can create a self-portrait, combine your power colors,
write down your very own personal statement
or just dive right in and see where the journey takes you.
For this, you’ll have access to small stretcher frames, various types of paper and painting tools,
paints, collage materials, and the expertise of workshop leader Denise. Please select your preferred materials in advance when booking.
At the end, you’ll take home a little memento that will always remind you of the strengths lying dormant within you whenever you catch a glimpse of it!
The workshop is led byDenise Tekol (she/her). She is an art educator, art therapist, and artist based in Darmstadt.
As an art educator, she focuses on expression, individual creativity, and self-development in her studio, DADAzwischen—regardless of artistic skill or age. Rather, the focus is on the creative abilities that each of us possesses and that can be discovered and explored in a playful way within this creative safe space.
As an artist, she has a penchant for experimental art forms, unusual materials, and colors. Inspired by her own life experiences and the principles of Dadaism, her work reflects a rebellious, avant-garde, and feminist spirit that challenges social norms and emphasizes creative freedom. A recurring theme is the question: Why not, after all?
DRUM MEETUP / 3:00–5:30 p.m. / KREATIVFABRIK / NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED!
Do you play the drums, want to get back into it, or just want to try it out to see what it feels like? Then come to our open FLINTA* drum meetup!

Anna Kachel (she, her)joined KREA through the FLINTA* Drum Workshops and wants to share her positive experiences—being able to be herself there—with others.
SOCIAL DANCE WORKSHOP / 3:00–5:00 p.m. / SKATE HALL
That’s exactly the vibe for this workshop! No performance, no pressure—just dancing with amazing FLINTA* folks who’ve always wanted to try partner dancing or social dancing but never found the space they were looking for.
Free from traditional gender roles and stereotypical images that we already have in our heads before the words “dance class” are even uttered—but, of course, with the same fun and sense of community. You don’t have to come with a partner, nor do you have to touch anyone. Consensus is our top priority, and we’ll shape the workshop together without strict guidelines. It’ll be a great time with solo dance elements to get moving, and we’ll take a look at merengue as our first dance. Basically, you can expect two hours full of connection, music, and of course lots of dancing and emotion!
Wear something you feel comfortable in—ideally something you can easily put on or take off if you get too hot or too cold. Feel free to bring your own drink—otherwise, you can also purchase drinks on-site.
You need 0.0 prior experience, as long as you don’t put pressure on yourself—there are absolutely no expectations to meet, not even your own. If you have any concerns or health issues, please contact us at info@flintamusiclab.de—we’re sure to find a solution for everything!
The workshop will be led byShirin (she/her): “To say a few words about myself: I’m 23 years old and have been dancing for more than half my life—starting with hip-hop when I was just entering fourth grade, moving on to a classical ballroom dance class in ninth grade, and eventually completing a three-year training program to become a dance instructor. During that time, I immersed myself in standard and Latin dances, as well as hip-hop and high heels again, I’ve taken many private lessons myself, but what I love most is teaching my own classes, because I’ve discovered that my strength lies not only in dancing, but above all in passing on this joy!”
LIGHTING TECHNOLOGY WORKSHOP / 3:00–5:30 p.m. / SCHLACHTHOF KESSELHAUS
