Basic workshop for FLINTA* - led by Lea, two-wheel mechatronics technician from Frankfurt. The focus is on road bikes & gravel.

The aim of the workshop is that after three hours you will be able to deal with typical breakdowns and minor adjustments on your own - and know what to look out for on the road.

Contents:
We will go through the most important steps together - all practical and directly on the bike for you to try out:

• Bike basics
  Which components on the bike are called what - and what are they for?
• Puncture & inner tube
  Changing and repairing inner tubes, understanding valve and tire types
• Removing and fitting wheels
  Safely removing and fitting front and rear wheels (with quick release or thru axle depending on the bike)
• Lifting tires up and down
  Removing and fitting tires correctly and avoiding typical mistakes
• Chain check & drivetrain
  Taking the chain off and on and how to tell if the chain is 'through'
• Brakes & setup
  Adjusting the brakes, aligning and straightening the handlebars
• Bikepacking & transportation
  "How to pack my bike" - what should be included? What to look out for when transporting your bike in a car or suitcase (incl. topic: securing the hydraulic brake)
• Time for questions
  Space for your own topics, situations on the road and anything you want to clarify on your bike.
  

What do I need to bring?
Ideally, you should bring your own bike and tools so that you can work directly with what you use at home or on the road. If you don't (yet) have any tools, don't stress - everything will be there for you to try out.
