Fluxus bis Punk, die Ratinger Straße

In the organizer's words:

The Fluxus and punk scene has put "the Ratingers", as we Düsseldorfers affectionately call them, on everyone's lips far beyond our city.

The artists of the 60s and 70s rejected the old and, for them, encrusted structures of art. Suddenly anything was possible. New beginnings were in the air.

In the mid-70s, the Ratinger Hof punk and music scene arrived.

To this day, Ratinger Strasse is more than just a synonym for art and music history: it is a way of life. In the immediate vicinity (Kunstakademie | Neubrückenstraße | Kunsthalle | Mutter-Ey-Str | Andreasstraße | Burgplatz) with a maximum radius of two kilometers, it was/is still shaped by the artists of the Kunstakademie.

Sometimes you can still feel it: the old days.

On a summer evening or on December 24, on days when we Düsseldorfers meet on the street in front of the Uel, the Golden Unicorn or Ohme Jupp.

From the Kunstakademie, the route heads towards the Kunsthalle via
Burgplatz to the Ratinger Hof.
