Out of automatic mode - getting started with photography

Do you have a camera and want to better understand what you are actually setting? This course will give you an understandable and practical introduction to photography.

In two sessions of three hours each, you will learn the basics and try them out straight away.

The first session will focus on the key settings: Shutter speed, aperture and ISO - and how they affect your pictures. Instead of a lot of theory, the focus is on trying things out so that you get a feel for the interrelationships.

Between the sessions, you can consolidate what you have learned with a small photo assignment. At the second meeting, we will look at the results together and deal with the basics of image editing and organization. You will also get an overview of helpful programs.

You can take part with any camera that can be set manually. For the second meeting, please bring a laptop or tablet so that we can clarify specific questions directly.

Important note:
The course takes place in cooperation with the Katholische Erwachsenen- und Familienbildung Mülheim. Registration is only possible via the KEFB.
