Founders Breakfast with Stadtfreunde

As part of Startup Week Düsseldorf 2026, we’re hosting a Founders Breakfast at Café Drrüsch. Julian Kenk will explain how to build an active community with thousands of members and the role that social media, personal stories, regular events, and local partnerships play in the process. He’ll also discuss the challenges and difficulties alongside the successes. 

It all started not with a business plan, but with the search for new social connections in a big city. What began as a first “Social Run” with ten participants grew within a year into a community offering regular sports, cultural, and recreational activities, with its own organizers and partnerships with Düsseldorf-based companies. 

In addition to concrete lessons on community building, Julian offers candid insights into topics such as expanding reach on Instagram, event organization, delegating responsibility, motivating volunteers, and the challenges of a rapidly growing project. 

The talk will be accompanied by a shared breakfast buffet, unlimited coffee, and plenty of time for questions, discussion, and networking with other founders, creatives, and engaged individuals.
