What makes a city what it is? How did people live in Frankfurt in the past and how do they live today? What connections are there with neighbors and strangers? The permanent exhibition *Frankfurt Once?* asks these and many other questions. On an area of 2,000 square meters and in five galleries, the history of the city is illuminated. The exhibition does not proceed chronologically, but is structured according to the special features that have shaped Frankfurt over the course of time.

The exhibition always offers new impressions, as the exhibits are regularly changed in some areas. With the help of so-called "walking maps", visitors can discover the city from new perspectives again and again.

There are special offers for children and families, such as the "family trail", and interactive elements ensure barrier-free access to the exhibition's content.
