Between Tinder longing and love mania
What happens when a hopelessly romantic woman with a penchant for self-analysis sets out to find happiness? In the Silbersaal, Julia Hitzenberger invites you on an atmospheric journey that begins where small talk ends. From the abysses of online dating in Munich, to promising nights in Paris and spiritual aberrations in India: Julia dissects the longings of our time - where it hurts and where it gets really funny.
With just her guitar and an enormous presence, Julia single-handedly creates entire worlds. In this intense mixture of musical cabaret and solo theater, she slips masterfully into roles - sometimes as a dazzling femme fatale, a biting psychoanalyst or a Bavarian cis-man with commitment issues.
Julia sings against frustration with her expressive voice, interprets chansons and well-known songs with a new twist and reveals the inner monologues that we all know but prefer to keep quiet. An emotional rollercoaster ride - funny, touching and disarmingly honest. An evening for the Tinder generation, their parents and everyone who has ever searched, hoped or loved.
A Munich native with Lower Bavarian roots and a head full of stories from Paris, Italy and Vienna: Julia Hitzenberger has studied what it means to be human in places where there are no masks - between beer benches in the Hofbräuhaus, Indian ashrams and the daily madness of working as a childcare worker in a daycare center.
On stage, she combines these experiences into a multi-layered whole: With her guitar and expressive voice, she covers everything from vintage chansons from the 1920s to her own modern songs. As a trained therapist, she looks with a sharp mind at everything that drives us humans - and laughs with a lot of self-irony, preferably at herself.
