An exhibition by the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum in cooperation with the European Solidarity Center in Gdansk, the National Gallery in Prague and the National Museum in Wrocław.

Using numerous works of art, interactive stations and historical documents, photos and films, the exhibition asks what freedom actually means: Were the restrictions on individual freedoms justified during the coronavirus pandemic? Should citizens be told which heating systems or cars they can use in the name of climate protection? Does self-interest come before the common good - or is it the other way around?

The exhibition looks back in history and shows how freedom is conceived, fought for and constantly renegotiated.
