She radiates dignity, even defiance, she knows what she is talking about. She takes the space she needs: Internationally renowned film and television actress Sibel Kekilli makes her impressive and highly acclaimed theater debut in "Fremd" at the end of October 2023. She lends her voice to a socially explosive text penned by Michel Friedman. The Jewish, Franco-German publicist, talk show host, lawyer and philosopher tells of a childhood in Germany that is characterized above all by an overwhelming feeling of being a stranger.

In the post-war Germany of the economic miracle, no one wanted to have anything to do with the Nazi crimes, the break with civilization and the Holocaust. The murders were suppressed, the pain remained. And even today, no one wants to be reminded of what their own role in history was and is - especially not by "foreigners". In this country, however, children have grown up and continue to grow up as migrants. As people whose "I" threatens the "we" of the so-called majority society. In "Fremd", Friedman tells the autobiographical story of one of these children who tries to find his place in the world between family trauma, pressure to conform and racism.
