In the organizer's words:

The University of Leipzig’s Museum of Antiquities cordially invites you to a Sunday tour of the newly renovated Klinger Cabinet—a special encounter with the legacy of one of Leipzig’s most significant artists.

The sculptor, painter, and graphic artist Max Klinger (1857–1920) is one of Leipzig’s most renowned artistic figures of the 19th and early 20th centuries. In contrast, the small, newly curated “Klinger Cabinet” at the Museum of Antiquities showcases objects that were once owned by Klinger. Until now, these had been stored in the museum’s storage facility and were not accessible to the public. Three ancient sculptures found their way into the Museum of Antiquities through the artist’s estate. In addition, there is a female torso that has been on display since 2000 on loan from the Museum of Fine Arts (MdbK). The cabinet provides space not only for these ancient fragments but also for the visitors’ imagination.
During this guided tour, let the questions about the objects guide you; get involved and form your own picture of what the complete statues might have looked like!

The guided tour is included in the admission price.
